2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Rules
Deuce to Seven Triple Draw Lowball is an exciting, unique game known for generating heavy betting action and lots of big pots. Poker strategists and action junkies alike love this game because it offers just the right combination of skill and luck to keep them both coming back for more.
The game is a little complicated at first but if you take the time to learn it well, there is a lot of money to be made. It’s a game that few people ever master so you’ll find a lot of soft spots online. 1. Post the blinds
Deuce to Seven uses a blind system just like Texas Holdem to start each pot out with a little bit of money. The player directly to the left of the dealer pays the small blind and the person to the left of the small blind pays the big blind.
The big blind is typically equal to the size of the minimum bet and the small blind is usually equal to one half of the minimum bet of the game. So in a $10/$20 game, the blinds would be $5 and $10.
2. Initial deal + betting round
Each player is dealt five cards face down, one at a time, starting with the player to the left of the dealer and moving clockwise around the table.
After the players have received their cards, there is a round of betting. The betting begins with the player to the left of the big blind. This player may call, fold or raise. The action continues clockwise around the table until all bets have been matched.
3. First draw
Each player may discard as many cards as he wishes from his hand and receive new cards. The player to the left of the dealer begins the drawing round and it continues clockwise around the table.
Note – In all drawing rounds the players may discard 0 cards. This is called “standing pat.” If a player discards all 5 cards, that player will receive 4 cards at once and then receive the 5th card after all the other players have completed their draws.
4. Second betting round
After the first draw has been completed, there is another round of betting. From now on, the betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer.
5. Second draw
The remaining players have a second drawing round identical to the first drawing round.
6. Third betting round
There is a third round of betting identical to the previous betting round.
7. Third draw
The remaining players have a third drawing round identical to the previous drawing round.
8. Fourth betting round
The remaining players have a fourth and final drawing round.
9. Showdown
The players remaining after the last drawing round now reveal their hole cards. The player with the best 2-7 Lowball hand wins the pot.
