Bodog Tournaments

Bodog guarantees about $5,000,000 in tournament prizes every month, with the biggest regular tournament being the weekly $100,000 guaranteed. The tournaments at Bodog tend to be smaller, but that can sometimes lead to huge values for the players. During last week’s tournament, Bodog Poker had to add $35,200 to the prize pool to meet the guarantee. With only 432 players to compete against, this would have been an awesome tournament to play in.

Besides the big guaranteed tournaments, Bodog Poker also offers the standard variety of scheduled MTTs, sit and go tournaments, satellites and more. These tournaments don’t often attract more than several hundred players so if you’re looking for some easy scores, you should definitely give Bodog Poker a try.

Cash Games

The cash games at Bodog include Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Five Card Stud. There’s never a problem finding games of Texas Holdem but if you play other forms of poker, you might want to check out Absolute Poker instead.

If you can deal with the limited game selection (which really isn’t that bad), you’ll be glad to know that Bodog has some of the weakest opposition out there. The thing about Bodog is that there aren’t quite enough players there to support the multi-tabling regulars so what you’re left with is casual players who don’t mind playing only a few tables at a time. In addition to that, the poker room gets a lot of casual players that cross over from the casino.

Bodog Poker Software

Bodog Poker has its strengths and weaknesses. On one hand, the software looks great and is clearly organized. The software makes it easy to find the games you want and to get started at any table or tournament. We also like the simple design of each poker table. This makes it easy to instantly see where the action is at all times.

On the negative side, the Bodog software is a little slow and clunky. The tables list updates slowly and it can be a pain to play at multiple tables at a time. We also occasionally have problems in which the software will try to update itself and then freeze up halfway through the process.

The problems with the Bodog software appear to be mostly technical in nature. Once you get the tables up and running, you won’t have any problems playing poker. The games move at a steady clip and everything important works as it should.

Mac Compatibility

Player Traffic

Player traffic is Bodog’s weakest point. It doesn’t make the site unplayable, however, it just makes it difficult for high stakes players and non-Holdem players to find games.
